MISSION:
The Municipal Government of Balangiga is committed to implement programs, projects, and activities
that supports to Section XVI and XVII of the Local Government Code of 1991 such as but not limited to:
1. Preservation and enrichment of culture;
2. Promote health and safety;
3. Enhance the right of the people to a balanced ecology;
4. Encourage and support the development of appropriate and
self-reliant scientific and technological capabilities;
5. Improve public morals;
6. Enhance economic prosperity and social justice;
7. Promote full employment among residents;
8. Maintain peace and order; and
9. Preserve the comfort and convenience of the inhabitants.
Land Area
Balangiga has a total land area of 196.45 square kilometers and representing 4.394% of the total land area of the province. It has thirteen (13) barangays, seven (7) are considered urban and six (6) are classified as rural. Almost all barangays are proximities of the town proper except Maybunga which is the farthest barangay, seventeen (17) kilometers away from the Poblacion.

General Topography
Balangiga is characterized by coastal lowlands with rugged mountainous hinterlands where wildlife remains. The marine life is rich with plenty of beautiful gardens secreted by marine polyps for support and habitation underneath coral reefs. The beaches yielded treasures of valuable items worthy for export.
The climatic condition of the municipality has pronounced seasons: the rainy months of October to January and the dry months from February to September. The average temperature is posted at 29°C simultaneous throughout the entire area. The highest elevation of the area is 300 meters above sea level and the lowest is 100 meters, alternating by rivers and creeks.
